Manufacturer-Agnostic.
Field-Proven.
PVTestEquipment.com provides independent guidance, equipment sourcing, and training — with no vendor affiliations and no agenda.
Driven By
Field Experience.
PVTestEquipment.com was formed from an understanding that the companies and technicians that make up the solar industry require guidance and support from an organization that understands their challenges. We take this a step further by providing free, ongoing, virtual training for any equipment purchased through us. In-person and onsite training options are also available for a fee.
By remaining manufacturer-agnostic, PVTestEquipment.com is able to recommend the best tool for the job in both function and cost. We work to support organizations and projects of all sizes — from rooftop residential and commercial to ground mount utility scale — by providing independent, manufacturer-agnostic guidance we enable PV professionals to make confident equipment selection decisions with all the necessary information. Part of every conversation is shared experience on the most effective methods for deployment and training, allowing our end users to focus on safety and achieving project deadlines.
Straight Answers. One Goal.
The solar test equipment market spans dozens of manufacturers across North America, Europe, and Asia. Each offers strong products, varying price points, and application-specific strengths. Our goal is to ensure you get exactly what you expect with no surprises.
Most buyers navigate this landscape without independent guidance, relying instead on generic distributor recommendations. We think that's backwards. PV Test Equipment was founded to fill that gap. We evaluate equipment on its merits, track emerging methodologies from practitioners worldwide, and translate technical specifications into practical field decisions. Our recommendations are shaped by real-world commissioning and O&M experience, not by who's paying for shelf space.
Whether you're selecting your first IV curve tracer, upgrading your insulation resistance testing workflow, or searching for a more effective commissioning workflow for a utility-scale asset, we give you the information you need to choose right the first time.
We're just getting started.
- In-depth equipment reviews across IV curve tracers, insulation resistance testers, thermal cameras, clamp meters, pyranometers, and reference cells
- Side-by-side manufacturer comparisons with application-specific recommendations
- Field methodology guides covering commissioning, acceptance testing, and O&M inspection protocols
- Consulting and training services for teams looking to build or improve their test and measurement programs
- Coverage of international standards including IEC 62446, IEC 60891, and ASTM E2848
